Private: Prayer Is Needed For Effective Ministration -Sylvanus Godspower

First Corinthians chapter 12:28 shows us those to whom the Lord entrusted much and those whom He entrusted a little; starting from those with the greatest responsibilities to the least.

Despite the differences in our spiritual abilities and responsibilities, we will be effective through constant recharging and renewing them by prayer. I therefore find it necessary to speak or elaborate on prayer since that is the only way to renew our spiritual gifts.

All Are Called to Pray

Prayer is the key to spiritual effectiveness. The more time we spend with the Lord, the livelier and effective we become in our various ministries. The potential to become spiritually rich is through fervent prayer. Our spiritual gifts depend on prayer for growth and development.  Apostle Paul exhorts

Timothy his spiritual son to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in him… (Second Timothy 1:6). This means that Apostle Paul asked Timothy to focus on prayer since it is an effective means to keep his spiritual gifts active. God’s deposited gifts in us become ineffective when prayer becomes a past history in our spiritual journey. We must maintain our spiritual abilities by constant prayer. We must give ourselves to the ministry of prayer. Fellow brethren, a prayerless Christian is a defeated Christian and becomes a tool in the hands of the enemy for destruction. The person who does not pray effectively, will be devoid of the presence of God and soon becomes a ritualistic Christian.

Jesus Christ prophesied what will happen when His servant becomes wicked (laziness and unfaithfulness). He said, “But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on the day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 24:48-51 ESV). The enemy has destroyed Christians who ignored the ministry of prayer by making them lazy and unfaithful, once Christians are been destroyed by the enemy they become worldly. The churches are encountering many challenges today because many have abandoned their prayer position. Warning: beware when prayer becomes a difficult task for you. We cannot do less in prayer and expect more from God.
