IN THE MORNING, WHEN I WAKE UP

1. In the morning when I wake up,

   I sit quietly and pray.

   I thank my God I am up,

   Ready to live to His praise.

2. My heart will sing for joy,

   Promising to be obedient.

   When I heed my parents’ voice,

   Every danger will I escape.

3. I am blessed and highly favoured,

   When all my day I spend in His presence.

   My soul is fed and my body well nurtured,

   Success is certain, yes, freshness is assured.
